Description:
The Automated Test Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software and systems. This position involves designing, developing, and executing automated tests to validate the functionality, performance, and stability of GameStop's applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem-solver with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand software requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and identify defects.
- Report and track defects using a bug tracking system and work with developers to resolve issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and automation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain test data and test environments for automated testing.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and identify potential quality issues early in the development cycle.
- Monitor and analyze test execution metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing and automation.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Qualification:
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress).
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
